Greensufi Tariq Hamid
December 10, 1935 - January 27, 2010
Clayton's mentor, guru and Friend for 15 years,
Greensufi Tariq Hamid passed away of natural causes on January
27th 2010. He was instramental in inspiring the hearts and minds
of many students over the years. His teachings of the connection
between nature, yoga and the human body helped pave the way for
todays Green Yoga movement.
We are having a memorial for him at the Marin Subud Center (100
Sacramento St. in San Anselmo, CA 94930) on Saturday, February
27th. The remembrance will start at noon and go until about 4:30pm.
Afterward, there will be a party across the street at Jonathan
Hyman's house.
There will be some light hors d'oeuvres, but people
are encouraged to bring food, so we can eat potluck style. (We
won't be sitting down and eating, just standing and munching,
FYI.) There will also be a place for donations, which will go
toward covering the standard costs. And there will be ample time
for people to share words and memories of the Souf.
Greenpath Studio Closed in November 2006.
Clayton Horton teaches workshops, trainings classes and intensives
internationally as a traveling teacher.

Yoga is going more Green!
We are participating in the Green
Yoga Association’s Green Studio Pilot Program.
Through this one year program, we will be making some changes
around the studio
to incorporate more sustainable and recyclable materials
into our business operation
and will be helping to author the first Green Yoga Studio
Handbook.
Some steps we are making (or already
have in place) include:
-Our bamboo floors (bamboo is a renewable resource)
-Toxic free cleaning supplies
-Printing fliers and schedules on recycled paper products
-Our new water filter (no more plastic bottles!)
-PVC-free community yoga mats (eco-yoga with jute and jade
harmony)
-Bamboo blocks
-Using cloth towels in the bathroom instead of paper
-Recycled toilet paper & paper towels
-New bike rack outside
-Reusable / recycled water cups
-Public transportation links on our website's Contact page
-Our walls are painted with VOC-free paint
-Energy efficient light bulbs & lighting systems from
PG&E.
-Scheduled Air filter changes for efficient heating
-Declaring freedom from junk mail
(as catalogs come it, we call them and ask to be taken off
their lists…really…you can too!)
